It’s often hard to redecorate a whole bathroom if you’re not sure where to start. It’s a normal phenomenon – a lot of people feel disappointed with the way their bathroom is (perhaps it is outdated or does not radiate the look and feel you may desire) but when it comes to fixing it, it’s often easier said than done.
Luckily, the solutions are often very simple and straightforward. Ever wonder how to bring your bathroom to the 21st century and make it fit for you? Here’s a list of brilliant ways to change your bathroom’s look.
Consider your bathroom cabinet accessories
The cabinets often take up a lot of space, so if you are somehow able to make smart decisions that allow you to store your necessities and other items in a more space-economical manner, then that will automatically give you more space for other things (or at least create more space, which in turn can lead to a more luxurious bathroom experience). By taking a look at the bathroom cabinets and the storage accessories, a lot of significant changes can be made quite easily.
Add some colour with mats and rugs
There was a time when the colour white or off-white was in – it’s clean and modern (or at least, it used to be). These days are gone, and more natural tones are in vogue. Furthermore, it’s becoming quite fashionable to add a splash of colour here and there. This could mean adding an odd-coloured tile here and there, hanging a flashy painting, or simply replacing your old mats with something that is more daring and warm.
It’s not a convenient choice for a bathroom, considering the humidity, but there is special wallpaper available that can handle the moisture and gives your bathroom a warmer feeling.
Change the mirror
The mirror can make a big difference. Try something more modern or more classic.
A chandelier brightens it up
A chic chandelier or unique lighting fixture will make a great impact anywhere, including the bathroom.
Choose your lighting
Your lighting is important. For the bathroom, you’ll need two kinds – light that you can work with (for personal grooming) and light that sets the mood for a relaxing shower or bath. Use both.
A tap makes a difference
Stay away from the boring – go for copper, or go for the modern touch.
There are some other things you can do to make your bathroom better. Put some plants in the corner to bring in a natural atmosphere, or add some beautiful frames on the wall. If you want to go big and bold, you can even replace an old bath with a freestanding bath. Freestanding baths nowadays come in all shapes and sizes, and are less costly as well. There truly are a lot of things you can do – you imagination is the limit.
